Welcome to the web-site of the United Methodist Church of Storm Lake, Iowa.  I look forward to getting to know all who wish to be a part of our congregation, or those who would like to know more about our faith and our ministries.  Or it may be that you wish to seek the assistance of a pastor as you deal with some issue in life.  You may send me an email or call our church office to initiate such a conversation.

I envision this congregation being vitally involved in the community, responding to the hurts and hopes of persons.  Our denomination has a motto, "Open Hearts, Open Minds, Open Doors."  This speaks of our intention to be welcoming of all persons.  One of the statements of the Church says it well:

      "We recognize that God made all creation and saw that it was good.  As a diverse people of God who bring special gifts and evidences of God's grace to the unity of the Church and to society, we are called to be faithful to the example of Jesus' ministry to all persons.  Inclusiveness means openness, acceptance, and support that enables all persons to participate in the life of the Church, the community, and the world.  Thus, inclusiveness denies every semblance of discrimination.  The mark of an inclusive society is one in which all persons are open, welcoming, fully accepting, and supporting of all other persons, enabling them to participate fully in the life of the church, the community and the world."
